Every score is four points for each percent of six-month downside, capped at one hundred. Cash is zero. A holding whose worst ninety-five-percent six-month loss is nineteen percent scores seventy-six.
For each holding, the daily price history since 1990, with dividends and splits folded in, is cut into every overlapping six-month window of one hundred twenty-six trading days. The 2.5th and 97.5th percentiles of those window returns are the ninety-five percent historical range. Where a holding is younger than 1990, its own full history is used, and the start date is shown beside it.
Today's market values set fixed weights. The household's daily return is the weighted return of the holdings that have history on that day, with cash earning zero. The window opens on the first day the priced holdings carry at least four fifths of the household's value, so a young holding does not erase the older history.
One thousand paths are stitched from random three-week blocks of the household's own daily returns since the window opened. The reference band uses a blend of the total United States stock market and the aggregate bond market whose score matches the client's preference.
The first question fixes the six-month loss the client accepts; the four that follow move it by up to three points each. The score is four times the result.

The points are a six-month loss in percent, floored at two and capped at forty. The score is four times the result.
